With rising energy bills, more and more people are realizing that the best way to improve their existing buildings is to have a Green Home technician perform an energy audit. This comprehensive audit examines the entire building—top to bottom—to identify the “whole house” approach to saving energy and improving performance. These audits uncover classic construction mistakes that hurt indoor air quality, hinder comfort, and waste energy. Green Home offers energy audits on both residential and commercial buildings.

A Green Home Energy Audit includes:
Blower Door Test: A blower door is a diagnostic tool designed to measure the airtightness of buildings. and to help locate air leakage sites. A blower door consists of a calibrated fan for measuring an airflow rate, and a pressure-sensing device to measure the air pressure created by the fan flow. The combination of pressure and fan-flow measurements are used to determine the building airtightness. The airtightness of a building is useful knowledge when trying to increase energy conservation or decrease indoor air pollution, or control building pressures.
Combustion Safety Test: Assuring that combustion products end up outside rather than inside a house is critical for health and safety reasons. Green Home test for spillage, draft, and measures Carbon Monoxide levels within your combustion appliances. We also measure ambient CO around the home at all times.
Detailed Energy Overview: Our detailed questionnaire will help reveal how you and your family use energy in your home and help us to make recommendations on how to improve your home's efficiency, lower your energy bills, and make your home more comfortable.
